Energy

Force

To move, dancers have to expend energy. The amount of energy they exert as they perform a movement is called “force”. The same movement performed with varying amounts of force will evoke different moods and feelings in the audience, creating variety in the performance. Thus, “force” is an important tool in a dancer’s repertoire.
