Pre-Production

Concept Art

“Concept art” images are drawings or paintings that begin to create an overall scenic look of a film. Conceptual artists are critical in the behind-the-scenes pre-production phase of a film because they establish the tone that will dominate the work.

The final look of a scene will be changed by practical considerations like budgetary restrictions and location availability, but nevertheless the original artistic concept gives a strong direction in turning the script into a visual art form.
