Sound designSound in film is added after the shooting has been completed. The sounds used in film accomplish many things almost without the audience being aware of the effects: Sounds help to define the mood, set expectations, define the setting and characters, and accentuate the action. Sound tracks include the musical score, dialogue, sound effects, and ambient sound. All these elements add layers of meaning and provide sensual stimuli that increase the range of our emotional response to a film. |
