The Online Learning Center is designed to enhance your learning. Book-specific content like quizzing, case studies, objectives, and Web links can all be accessed by choosing from the list to the left. These materials are designed to help you succeed in your course. Some of these features may be "Premium" content. For access to premium content, you will need a registration code. The registration code is included on the card that came with your new textbook. The first time you attempt to access content in the Student Edition (by clicking on the link to the left), you will see a log-in drawer drop down where you are prompted to register for the first time. Once you do this, you then create your own unique account with a username and password. On subsequent visits to the site, you will then use this unique user name and password rather than your registration code. .
The fourth edition of Chemistry in Context maintains the outlook and strengths of its preceding editions while bringing new and exciting dimensions to the textbook. The basic philosophy and approach remain constant: chemistry set within a contextual framework. Significant societal-technological issues serve to introduce the chemistry, which is developed within its political, economic, social, global, and personal contexts. Chemical principles are introduced on a need-to-know basis. In-chapter and chapter-end exercises apply and extend the chemical concepts.
