  1. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum and peroxisomes are going to be most involved in alcohol detoxification (see pages 48, 56, and 57). However, all of this work requires energy so these cells would be expected to have more than the normal amount of mitochondria also (see pages 48 and 56).

  2. They lack nuclei in mammals: (page 57).

  3. Since a thymine analog might not be usable as complement to adenine, one can assume that cell replication and, therefore, cell division, will be stopped dead in its tracks (70). Transcription is required before protein synthesis but RNA has uracil replaces thymine so that both transcription and translation will most likely go forward (63-65).

  4. One needs to know about the length of any introns (63).
