You are lucky to find one of these cells as they only account for 1 out of every 200 leukocytes counted. Note the abundant dark blue granules that can hide the bilobed nucleus from view. Often mistaken for lymphocytes in part to their size and appearance due to poor staining . These cells are involved in allergic reactions as producers of histamine and other vaso-active agents.
