Monocytes

The largest of the leukocytes!  Notice the absence of abundant granules and the horse-shoe shaped nucleus.  The nucleus of these cells typically is a lighter shade of blue and has a bubbly type of appearance.  Monocytes are very active phagocytic cells and are important in stimulating immunological reactions as antigen presenting cells.
