Ken Saladin is Professor of Biology at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where he has taught since 1977. He earned his B.S. degree in zoology from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. in parasitology from Florida State University. In addition to human anatomy and physiology, he teaches histology, neuroanatomy, biomedical etymology, animal behavior, and sociobiology. Ken is a five-time recipient of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Professor award for outstanding mentor to his undergraduate students. He also received a university Excellence in Research and Publication Award for the first edition of this book. Ken is an active member of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society. He served as a developmental reviewer and wrote instructors' supplements for several other McGraw-Hill anatomy and physiology textbooks for a number of years before beginning his own textbook. Ken is married to Diane Saladin, a Registered Nurse; they have two children.
