Human Interactive Physiology
Under Development
Designed to support ALL McGraw-Hill Anatomy & Physiology texts, McGraw-Hill's
Human Interactive Physiology is a major multimedia product designed to help
students understand the main concepts related to Human Physiology.
- This web-enabled product is designed to fully utilize the potential of
Internet-delivered learning, which includes such features as global delivery,
cross-platform accessibility, and immediate utilization of upgrades and maintenance.
- This program provides a friendly and educational environment that progresses
through concepts in a logical order from simple to more complex; builds on and
reinforces physiological processes and relationships, and uses animated graphics
and real world analogies to enhance learning.
- Each module is comprised of the following components: Topics, Subtopics
or "lessons" with embedded interactions, Labs (laboratory simulations), Clinical
Applications and Exams (or quizzing).
- The primary means of communicating the content is through graphics. However,
audio narration has been included throughout the program to support every topic
and the glossary, which provides audio pronunciations!
- The exams are divided into 6 question types: 1) Single Answer Multiple
Choice, 2) Multiple Answer Multiple Choice, 3) Drag and Drop (for labeling exercises),
4) Click a Picture (to identify parts or structures), 5) Sequencing (for processes),
and 6) Matching (for definitions or functionality).
- Labs are available for each topic. The lab feature incorporates actual
laboratory simulations.
- Clinical Applications provide an opportunity for students to apply knowledge,
to solve a problem or answer a question related to the content they have been
studying; thereby reinforcing the content they have learned.
- Exams, found at the end of every module, give students practice in answering
multiple-choice questions on all topics within the module.
- Students control the pace of the instruction. The user initiates the animations
that illustrate the concepts or physiological processes. Students can also look
up glossary terms as they are being used.
- Human Interactive Physiology offers a variety of ways that content is
presented (visual, auditory, etc.). In this way, the program is designed to
address different learning styles.
