Kent M. Van De Graaff received his Ph.D. in zoology from Northern Arizona University. For more than two decades, he has been a teacher and researcher of anatomy and physiology at the University of Minnesota, Brigham Young University, and Weber State University. He is an author of the nationally acclaimed textbook, Concepts in Human Anatomy and Physiology with Dr. Stuart Fox, and the new title Synopsis of Human Anatomy and Physiology with Fox and Karen LaFleur.
A prolific writer, Kent has authored and co-authored a wealth of other learning materials, including atlases, manuals, and guides. As an educator, he has been honored many times with awards of excellence for teaching, student advisement, and academic service.
Kent is the father of six children. Two of his sons are physicians and a third is currently in medical school. Outside the classroom, he enjoys jogging and painting wildlife.
Stuart I. Fox earned his Ph.D. in medical physiology from the University of Southern California (USC) Medical School while teaching full-time at Los Angeles City College. He is the author of several widely used laboratory manuals and co-author of the textbook Concepts of Human Anatomy and Physiology.
Stuart has taught at California State University, Northridge, and is now a full-time faculty member at Pierce College, where his daughter, Laura, is currently a student. The numerous awards he has received reflect his love for teaching. Among his favorite pastimes are amateur astronomy, mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking and cross-country skiing in the Sierras.
