These case studies are designed to provide opportunities for integrative thinking and problem solving for undergraduate students in anatomy and physiology.
Follow these guidelines:
- Click on the female or male body image to enter the case study program.
- Click on any of the ten labels to begin the case study.
- Read the appropriate case study and accompanying questions.
- Define all appropriate terms.
- Compare recorded values to normal values and note whether the recorded values are greater or less than normal.
- Review the physiologic facts in your text pertaining to this case study.
- Use a medical dictionary or the glossary in your text to clarify words or concepts you may not be familiar with.
- Apply these physiologic facts to make your "diagnosis" and to answer the accompanying questions.
- Realize that you may have to think for some time before being able to put all the pieces together. Some of the answers are not immediately obvious but they are within your grasp.
- You may submit answers to your instructor by following the on-screen instructions. Answers to these case studies are located in the Instructor Online Learning Center for the text. Please consult with your instructor to review the case study answers.
