Julie Meyer
is a plant pathologist and soil microbiologist, with special interest in the microbial
ecology of soils and biological control of plant disease. Dr. Meyer was on the faculty of
the University of Wisconsin as Extension Specialist in plant pathology until 1995 and is
currently a freelance science writer residing in Madison, Wisconsin.
Christopher Woolverton is a full-time member of the
Biological Sciences faculty at Kent State University, and teaches two courses in
microbiology in addition to a course in immunology. He has experience in Web site
development and has received extramural and intramural funding to create instructional web
sites. Dr. Woolverton currently uses self-designed Web sites for his respective courses
and has presented his Microbiology Learning Center Web Site to the 98th General
Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology. A summary of the presentation was
published in the societys journal, Focus on Microbiology Education.
