No matter what one’s personal or political opinions on environmental issues are, science tells us that there appear to be inviolate physical laws that our world follows. For example, the Theory of Gravitation is a very useful model for a basic, apparently universal force, that involves attraction between masses. While physicists continue to refine the theory and study gravitation on both smaller and larger scales, we have a good working knowledge of its effects and we accept gravity’s existence as a rule, or law. An example of a biological law is that all living organisms eventually die. |
