Protozoa are animal-like and were probably ancestral to true, multicellular animals. They are heterotrophic, motile, and unicellular. They have large, complex cells with many organelles. They move using pseudopods, cilia, or flagella. All can reproduce asexually by mitosis and some also have sexual reproduction.
