Hobson, G.: "How the Tomato Lost Its Taste," New Scientist, September 1988, vol. 119, pages 46–50. No one seems to know exactly when the flavor fled the tomato, only that it did. Scientists are searching for the lost ingredient.
Johnson, W.C. and C.S. Adkisson: "Airlifting the Oaks," Natural History, October 1986, pages 40–46. Bluejays spread acorns widely to new habitats; an example of animal dispersal of plant fruits and seeds.
