The EMBL Reptile Database
This site is billed as "an online information resource on reptile taxonomy with a focus on the species level." The information presented is primarily a listing of the thousands of known species of reptiles, synonyms for each species, known subspecies, the species' distribution, references and any additional comments on the species (e.g., links to other pages with information or photos about that species). The records are arranged by type of organism [lizards, snakes, tuataras, crocodiles, amphisbaenians (worm lizards), and turtles] and there is also a search engine to find information directly on a particular species. This site is hosted by EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) whose site serves as a repository for a variety of databases, most of which are related to molecular biology.
