Chapter 4: Polymers And Proteins |
The principle of polymeric structure underlies biological organization. Organisms make or obtain from their environments a relatively small number of monomers from which huge molecules needed for life are manufactured. Proteins are able to change shape in order to serve specific purposes. Huge biological molecules are able to carry information from individual to individual and from generation to generation.
