The kingdom Monera is explored with information on procaryotic cell size, morphology, and other significant characteristics. The ecological significance of bacteria is covered by showing how other more complex organisms depend on bacteria. Major types of disease are explored with a focus on those with bacterial, protozoan, fungal and viral causes.
