Chapter 30: The Evolution Of Eucaryotes

This chapter begins by outlining the problems of eucaryotic taxonomy. The second part of the chapter is a survey of the basal eucaryotes which focuses on nutritional mechanisms and types of chloroplasts. The organisms are explored as well as red algae and slime molds. The third part of the chapter is devoted to the evolutionary history of these groups of organisms and speculates on possible relationships between them and other groups.
