The first section of this chapter covers plant hormones. All five classes of natural plant hormones are covered: auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, abscisic acid and ethylene. The second section of this chapter covers photoperiodism in plants. There is a detailed discussion of how photoperiods affect growth and flowering in plants. The phytochrome system and the processes that it controls are explored.
