This chapter covers sensory receptors and perception in mammals and other organisms. The first half of the chapter is dedicated to chemoreceptors, mechanoreceptors (hair cells), electroreceptors, and thermoreceptors. The last half of the chapter deals with the various types of receptors involved in the visual system, and how they work together to create meaningful vision.
