Question 1: If we transferred a plant (specimen or seed) from a latitude of 40o North in the northern hemisphere to 40o South in the southern hemisphere, what would be the difficult adjustment for the plant?

Question 2: The biochemistry of photoperiodism is not simple. Why would plants not all evolutionarily "select" to flower in the same season by the first mechanism that evolved (all spring flowers or all fall flowers)?
