Question 1. If cortisol is good at reducing inflammation, especially of deep tissues, why isn't it a commonly used over-the-counter long-term drug for the many inflammation problems people have every day?

Question 2. Not only does the adrenal cortex secrete some estrogens, the normal fat tissue also produces some estrogen. Why would a female Olympic athlete cease having a menstrual cycle during strenuous training before a major event?
