The Hepatitis Information Network's HepNet provides the latest updates on hepatitis to the medical community and other users. Included in this site are patient care issues, news releases, clinical information, risk factors, and new developments. Each type of hepatitis is considered separately.
Numerous digestive diseases and ailments are covered in Patient Information Documents on Digestive Diseases, produced by NIH. The student can learn more about cirrhosis of the liver, Crohn=s disease, diverticulosis, gallstones, hiatal hernia and heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, lactose intolerance, ulcers, and other digestive ailments.
NIH also hosts a website on eating disorders and weight control, entitled Patient Information Documents on Nutrition and Obesity. Among the topics discussed in this site are binge eating disorder, dieting and gallstones, gastric surgery for severe obesity, prescription medications for obesity, additional information on obesity, and weight cycling. Guidelines are suggested for selecting a safe and effective weight loss program.
