The Tree of Life.  This site explores the phylogenetic relationships between great numbers of organisms and is continually updated.

National Biological Information Infrastructure. This is a gateway site to biological information from a myriad of sources, both governmental and private. Links abound.

Wandtafeln (Wall Charts) of Rudolph Leuckart. This site includes images of these remarkable charts that are a unique teaching aid in the study of zoology. Classic old-fashioned art.

Evolution and Geological Time

Geological Time. This web site presents an excellent description of the geological time scale and the events that highlight major geological time periods.

Sea World/Busch Gardens Animal Bytes. Links to information on various species of animals, primarily vertebrates that are aquatic.

Careers in Biology and Zoology

Careers for Biology Majors. At least 200 links to web sites can be found through this site which is updated frequently. An alphabetical listing of occupations in biology allows the user to see web sites under many of the listings that include detailed descriptions of careers.

Beyond Bio 101: The Transformation of Undergraduate Biology Education. This on-line publication from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute describes the Biology degree, the pathway to a graduate degree in Biological Sciences, careers in teaching biology, and the pre-med pathway.
