The Raptor Center. The Raptor Center provides medical treatment for injured birds of prey and is dedicated to the preservation of raptors. BirdSource: Birding with a Purpose. Sponsored by the National Audubon Society. Includes information on the Christmas Bird Count and the Backyard Count 2000.

Vertebrate Flight. This University of California at Berkeley, Museum of Paleontology site has an introduction to flight, as well as the physics, evolution, and origin of vertebrate flight.
Audubon: Names of North American Birds. Yikes! First a description of the correct format for writing common names of birds, then a list of over 1900 bird species found in North America, Mexico, and Hawaii by common and scientific name.
Threatened Birds of the United States. A list of extinct, threatened, vulnerable, or rare birds of the United States, categorized by order.
