Margarita Maria Lenk is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems at Colorado State University. Margarita holds a 1991 Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina, a 1987 MACC from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and a 1981 BSBA from the University of Central Florida. Margarita is a CMA, and enjoys teaching electronic commerce and accounting information systems.

Two of her six teaching awards include the 1996 campus-wide Instructional Innovation Award at Colorado State University and the 1997 Outstanding Accounting Educator in the state of Colorado. Margarita is dedicated to active learning techniques and her work has been published in Issues in Accounting Education, in the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning, in the Review of Accounting Information Systems, and in Business Communication Quarterly. Margarita was one of the critical forces in the creation of the AAA's Active Learning Committee as its first chair in 1998, and in 2001 is chair of the new Dot.Com Committee.

Margarita values active learning by her students' long run successes: better job offers, easier entry into the profession of their choice, quicker success and promotions, and healthier learning attitudes.
