Internet Exercises

Chapter 11 Internet Exercise: There is a substantial amount of information regarding equal employment available on the Internet. Government agencies like the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (http://www.eeoc.gov/) and the United States Department of Labor (http://www.dol.gov/) maintain extensive websites containing articles, guidelines, and advice regarding employment law. People who believe they are victims of discrimination or businesses looking for guidance can find help at these sites. Complete text of many employment-related laws is also available on the WWW. Students can find the Americans with Disabilities Act (http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahom1.htm) or

Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act (http://www.dol.gov/dol/oasam/public/regs/statutes/2000e-16.htm) on the Web. After you have looked at the websites mentioned in this exercise, search for websites that discuss the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 and the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, two other major pieces of employment-related legislation.
