The Social Security Act of 1935 established the federal old age, survivors
and disability insurance relied upon by many people in the United States.
The program has changed significantly since its inception, and there
is little doubt that there will be dramatic changes before you retire.
The act is governed by the Social Security Administration (http://www.ssa.gov/).
