What should I do if I upgrade my version of Office?
FAST Workbooks by Ross, Westerfield & Jaffe has been tested with Microsoft Office 97, Office 2000, Office XP and Office 2003.
If you upgrade to a subsequent version of Office, you should check with Addison Wesley to see if they have a new version.
Why do I get macro warning messages when I try to use the product?
A macro is a series of commands and instructions that are grouped together as a single command to accomplish a task
automatically. FAST Workbooks by Ross, Westerfield & Jaffe contains macros and when you open the file, Office displays
a macro warning dialog. Select Enable Macros to ensure the application works correctly.

How do I modify the worksheet formulas?
If you are proficient with Microsoft Excel formulas, you may wish to change some formulas or add your own.
Each worksheet is locked to keep the formulas from being accidentally overwritten. Only data entry cells are unprotected.
To make changes, go to the sheet you wish to modify, and unlock it. You can now edit the contents of all cells. Remember to lock the worksheet again when you are done.
To unlock a worksheet follow these steps:
1. Select Tools | Protection.
2. Choose Unprotect Sheet.
To lock the worksheet follow these steps:
1. Select Tools | Protection.
2. Choose Protect Sheet.
3. Click OK.
It is advisable that you take a backup copy of the original
Spreadsheet Template file before making any changes to it. If you happen to make a mistake and overwrite the original
file, you can always reinstall the product.
I just want to make a cell bold. How do I change the worksheet formatting?
Each worksheet is locked; only data entry cells are unprotected. Therefore, if you wish to change any aspect of protected
cells, including font, color, etc., you must first unlock the worksheet. See the
previous FAQ.
How do I overcome the problem when the worksheet displays #### in a cell?
This indicator in the cell means that the cell is not wide enough to display the entry. To get around this problem, do the
following:

Unprotect the worksheet.

Increase the width of the column where the cell resides until the data appears as it should. To do so click
Format | Column | Width from the Microsoft Excel menu and select the appropriate values.

Protect the worksheet.
How do I display the Row & Column Headers?
1. Select Tools | Options.
2. Under Window options, select the checkbox Row & Column headers.
Some of my colleagues use a Macintosh. Is this product compatible?
No, the Windows version of FAST Workbooks by Ross, Westerfield & Jaffe is not compatible with the Macintosh, although you may be able to use individual exported worksheets on
the Mac.
