Internet Applications for Global Managers

  • Search for information on the internet regarding a specific country. The IMF web site contains information on many countries (www.imf.org), as does that of the US State Department (www.state.gov/www/background_notes) with its "Background Notes" on most countries. The World Bank has several examples of country competitiveness indices on a web site (www.worldbank.org/html/extdr/regions.htm). Several travel related sites also contain information that is both informative and interesting (e.g., www.fodors.com, www.travelocity.com). Search for whatever information you can find. In addition to the country report, you can also inform other groups regarding the web sites that you found most useful in learning about your country.
