Internet Applications for Global Managers

  • Find an example of a recent "entry" by a foreign firm by looking in the newspaper, magazines, or a database. Next, see if the entry strategy would seem to fit with the advantages and disadvantages outlined in the chapter. Does a proposed joint venture, for example, seem to have the advantages outlined in the chapter, and do the other forms of entry seem less appropriate in this instance? You can search the recent editions of several publications over the internet (e.g., The Wall Street Journal www.wsj.com, Financial Times www.ft.com) to get started on this project.
