"Mexico Pulls Off Another Trade Coup" Business Week, February 7, 2000, p.56.

Synopsis:
As a member of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Mexico has enjoyed the benefits of regional economic integration. Its export has been steadily increasing, and direct investments into Mexico by U.S. and Canadian firms have soared.

This article explains the Mexico-European Union (EU) deal that could take effect as early as July 1. Under the deal, Mexico will have ample access to the European market. Mexico will also host many European manufacturers who want to use it as an exporting platform for other regions. This article also explains several industries that would be the biggest winners in the NAFTA-like pack with Europe.
