Development Story

A strong development process creates value for you. The development process behind Marketing: Creating Value for Customers, Second Edition allowed us to hear and to understand your needs because so many of you contributed. We hope you will find that this product exceeds your expectations!

We invite you to preview Gil Churchill and J. Paul Peter's Marketing: Creating Value for Customers, Second Edition. Throughout this preview you will see that we have listened to our reviewers, by thoroughly integrating the value theme, by continuing the emphasis on small businesses as seen in the hundreds of new examples, and by heightening both the coverage and application of technology throughout the book. Most importantly, the accessible writing style, which has been praised by your stu-dents, has been retained.

You will see that the text has been reorganized. Now Implementing and Controlling Marketing Activities is the final chapter, showing students how all that they have learned comes together. Strategy has been moved forward for a closer link to the Marketing Environment, and we have separated Retailing into its own chapter. All of these changes, revisions, and updates were accomplished while still keeping Churchill and Peter's text one of the more manageable principles of marketing texts available!

An important final note is that our ancillary package has been entirely revised and closely managed by Gil Churchill and J. Paul Peter. The Instructor's Manual, Test Bank, and Transparencies are completely new. Several new videos have been added to our Video Library. And we have added a Presentation CD ROM, an Interactive Homepage with updates from sources such as Business Week, and a student CD ROM to the package.

Welcome to the Preview Edition for Marketing: Creating Value for Customers, Second Edition. We hope our development process and combined efforts create superior value for you and for your students. Sincerely,

The Product Development Team
