1.)Describe the role of wholesaling in distribution.

The role of wholesalers and retailers is to handle the distribution functions more efficiently and effectively than producers can. Wholesalers and retailers carry out their role efficiently when they are able to save other channel members money through physical distribution activities. They carry out their role effectively when they deliver high quality and meet the needs of others in the distribution channel.
