Frequently Asked Questions

Is this all contained on one CD?

You bet. Software, worktext, databases and other goodies.

What does the CD cost?

Around $20 (about two pizzas) shrink-wrapped with a McGraw-Hill text, or around $37.50 (about three pizzas) purchased separately. See the Ordering page for details.

Are yearly site licenses available?

Yes. Around $500 for a 10-user license, or around $1,000 for unlimited users.

How do I find time for VS?

You don't teach VS. It is a tool that will save you time by communicating concepts more effectively.

Can I use VS for class demonstrations?

Yes. It's great for that.

Do I have to grade the student exercises?

Only if you get off on that sort of thing. Most instructors have students grade their own work using the online answer keys, and turn them in to see that they were done.

How do I know whether students have understood the material?

Since VS helps students better understand the concepts you already teach, you don't need to do any more testing than you are already doing. However, if you want, you can substitute VS projects (included with the package) for some of your existing assignments. They can be assigned as papers or group presentations.
