Promotes Student Exploration
|
Students will clearly see the main concepts
(learning objectives, overview of concepts, illustrations of
concepts). Students can look up definitions in the glossary
of terms. Students learn through individual exploration
and practice (learning exercises, individual and team projects). Students can answer their
own questions with the help system (keyword search,
explanations, illustrations, examples, formulas). Students can evaluate
their progress (self-evaluation quiz) and check their
answers to the exercises.

Conquers the Software Blues
Site licenses and single-user versions are
affordable. The software is easy to install. Students are
guided by module orientations (15-minute software
orientation). There is on-line help for every
module, with keyword searches, explanations, illustrations,
examples, and formulas.
Is Flexible
Visual Statistics adapts well to varied teaching styles
and levels of student preparation. You are in charge of Visual
Statistics, not the other way around. If you don't want to cover
all of the Visual Statistics topics, that's no problem, since
the modules can be used independently. Exercises are grouped by
level: basic, intermediate and advanced. The software may be used with
any textbook you like (although large discounts are available for adopters
of McGraw-Hill texts). You also can buy site licenses.
Gives Instructors Ideas
Instructors are assisted by an instructor's guide
(discussion of learning projects, suggestions for classroom
demonstrations, and tips on using the modules).
