Subjective Evaluation of Present Level of Physical Fitness
How do you know if you have an adequate level of physical fitness? You may be able to subjectively determine this by answering the questions below:
- Do you feel tired when you wake up in the morning and often do not really want to get out of bed?
- Do you yawn regularly throughout the day ?
- Do you become fatigued from tasks requiring minimal energy such as climbing several flights of stairs or walking around in a shopping mall?
- Do you run out of energy by the middle of the day or early afternoon and often wish that you had time to lie down and take a nap?
- When you look at yourself, do you wish you weighed less or had less fat in specific areas of your body?
- Do you frequently fall asleep in the evenings while reading or watching television?
- Are you often too tired to participate in active leisure activities?
- Are you vulnerable to frequent aches and pains?
- Do you often drive around a parking lot looking for a parking space close to the entrance?
- Do you buy a new pair of shoes every year or so because the old ones are dirty rather than worn out?
Overall Evaluation: Do you generally lack energy and vitality?
If several of your responses are "yes," then you may have less than an adequate level of physical fitness.
