Testicular Self-Examination

  1. Examine each testis separately with your fingers.
  2. Your testis should be gently rolled between your thumb and fingers; feel for small lumps or other abnormalities.
  3. This examination ought to be conducted on a monthly basis; the best time is after a shower or hot bath when the scrotum is relaxed, and your testes are easily felt.
  4. If you identify an abnormality, bring it to the attention of your physician.
