SimNet™ Exam Preferences
When you use SimNet, you control a variety of preferences and options for the exams you assign to your students. Read about the preferences available for either the Standard Edition or the Enterprise Edition of SimNet.
Exam Options: Standard Edition
In the Instructor Program users can set a variety of options, either for an individual exam or as global preferences for all exams.

- Exam-specific password (an additional level of password protection for exams)
- Time limit for the exam (how much time a student has to complete an exam)
- Display Feedback During Exam (whether student receives correct or incorrect feedback after each question is answered)
- Show Hints During Exam (if Feedback During Exam is enabled, instructor can specify if a student should be given a hint if a question is answered incorrectly)
- Detailed Feedback at End of Exam (if enabled, when the student completes an exam a report is displayed to lists every question on that exam, whether the student got each question correct or incorrect (or did not attempt that question), and page references to the McGraw-Hill textbook assigned by the instructor to the class)
- Remediation at End of Exam (SimNet for Office 2003 only) (if enabled, Student Remediation column on end-of-exam report is populated with the action and method the student took in answering a question incorrectly)
- Enable Printing of Exam Results (if enabled, student can print the end-of-exam report for use as a study guide)
- Show Study Guide (if enabled and a textbook is assigned to the exam, the Study Guide column of the end-of-exams report will be populated with page references to the textbook assigned to the exam)
- Allow multiple question attempts (instructor can allow student up to 4 attempts to answer each question)
- Allow Student to Retake Correct Answers (for SimNet for Office 2003 only; if enabled, student can return to questions already answered correctly)
- Allow Student to Retake Exam (if enabled allows students to take the same exam more than once)
- Random Question Order (if enabled, SimNet randomizes the order in which the questions on the exam appear)
- Use Question Limit (allows you to specify a random subset of the questions on an exam that will be presented to each student taking the exam)
- Allow Student to Save Exam (if not enabled, student must complete the exam in one sitting; when exam is completed results are automatically sent to the instructor program grade book via the shared data location)
- Delay Exam Results (allows instructor to set a future date at which students will be able to access the end-of-exam results report)
- Date and time during which exam is available (allows instructor to specify the date and time after which students can access an exam, and the date and time after which the exam is no longer available for students to access)
