What is CPS?

What is CPSOnline?

CPSOnline is a Web site where you go to set up your course and where your students register their response pads and enroll into your CPSOnline class. Once your students have enrolled in your CPSOnline class the roster can be downloaded to your installed CPS software. As students join your course and enroll, you will receive notification that they must be downloaded to your classroom computer.

Additionally, you can upload class participation grades, test scores, and attendance records. Instructors have a secure, individual online account where all information for their classes are stored and managed. Students have their own secure individual online account where they can view their grades and other class response information.

Does the computer in the classroom or lecture hall have to be connected to the internet?

No. The computer that you use in your lecture hall does not have to have internet capability. However the roster that you download from CPSOnline must be on the computer in the lecture hall in order for the student’s pads to be active. Most instructors use some type of removable media such as a zip drive or USB drive.

Is CPSOnline a secure site?

CPS and CPSOnline utilize SSL encryption to ensure that all data is transmitted securely. This is the same technology used by banks and financial institutions.
Our databases are not available on the internet. The data goes through 3 levels of security before being able to access our databases. For more information on security and our physical data center facilities please contact William Johnson at william@eInstruction.com.
