Search the Bureau of Labor Statistics http://stats.bls.gov/search/search.asp using the keyword "textiles" for the current Occupational Outlook for textile apparel and furnishings occupations. Next search using "computer" for the Occupational Outlook for computer scientists and systems analysts and for computer and peripheral equipment operators. What is the job outlook for the three occupations? Why do they differ? Do both computer occupations have the same job outlook?

Military Pay—Does the MRP 5 MRC Rule Apply? A profit maximizing firm will hire workers up to a point where MRP 5 MRC (the wage rate). Since the Army is not a profit maximizing firm what is the MRP for Army personnel? Does the MRP 5 MRC rule apply? If not how are military pay rates determined? Assume you are to graduate this semester with an Army ROTC commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. What would be your basic monthly salary? Check the Defense Finance and Accounting Service http://www.dfas.mil/money/ milpay/index.htm for an O1 (officer 1) 2 (under 2 years of service). Compare that to what is being offered for a graduate with your degree and experience at http://www.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/ Employment/Careers/ under Salary Information. Is the Army competitive? Based on these figures did you make the right decision to Go Army?
