The following sites may be of interest to the users of this textbook:

  • http://www.westernelectric.com.au - I consider this to be the best general motor site on the Web. Western Electric Australia has designed this site to be an information source for everyone who uses electric motors. They have deliberately not made this just another electronic catalog. Instead they have designed a reference point for anyone wishing to know anything about electric motors, from a simple "how do they work?" to a more complex question such as "how do I compare the US hazardous classifications for explosion proof motors to the equivalent IEC classifications?".
  • http://www.st.com/stonline - ST Microelectronics seems to be the best on-line source for information about power electronics and machine controllers. Check out their product specifications and especially their Application Notes.
  • http://www.ab.com - This is a general source of information about Allen-Bradley drives and controllers.
  • http://www.labvolt.com - LabVolt is a manufacturer of electric machinery training systems for use in schools.
  • http://www.magnetek.com - Magnetek manufactures a wide range of electrical motors and drive systems. Unfortunately, this site is more of a sales catalog, with less useful information.
  • http://www.tic.toshiba.com.au - Toshiba International Corporation is manufacturer of quality motors and drive systems. It is located in Houston, TX. Unfortunately, this site is also more of a sales catalog than a source of useful information.
