Dr. Ruth Lindsey
Dr. Ruth Lindsey is a professor emeritus and a recognized national leader in physical activity and fitness with a special expertise in biomechanics, kinesiology, questionable exercises, nutrition, and physical activity for senior adults. She is the author of more than a dozen different books including Concepts of Physical Fitness and Concepts of Fitness and Wellness, which is co-authored with Chuck Corbin and Greg Welk.
Dr. Lindsey's books on body mechanics pioneered the field as well as her research in fitness and wellness texts. Along with serving on numerous national organizations, she is also a lecturer, consultant, and regularly cited in health and fitness publications.
Lindsey received her doctorate from the University of Indiana and served on the faculties of Oklahoma State University and the University of Utah before her extended stay on the faculty at California State University at Long Beach.
