This diagram shows the basic tenets of the Theory of Reasoned Action and Planned Behavior.
Attitude is made up of expectencies and value placed on them. Social desirability is comprised of the perceived social norms and a person’s willingness to comply with them. These two factors are thought to influence intent which then can influence activity behavior
To increase the predictive utility of the model, the construct of “behavioral control” was added to the model and it is thought to influence both intentions and ability to carry out those intentions.
