Healthy People 2010 has designated two Overarching Goals to provide a structure for the overall public health initiative. These goals will be targeted by seeking to promote changes in 4 different categories of Enabling Goals. A total of 25 Primary Objectives have been establishedas the primary focus areas for the initiative.
New focus areas that will be added to this list are disability, people with low income, race and ethnicity, chronic diseases and public health infrastructure.
