Search Examples

Here are some examples to illustrate how our search engine works.

If you simply enter:

history

you will receive a list of all the pages that contain the word history, as listed in the search database. The database contains all titles, authors, and full product descriptions (including the table of contents) for each product.

If you enter:

history and art

the search engine will return a list of all the pages that contain both the word history and the word art.

If you enter:

history or art

the search engine will return a list of all the pages that contain either the word history or the word art or both.

If you enter:

history art

this will produce the same results as entering history and art. You will receive a list of all the pages that contain both the word history and the word art.

By entering:

histor*

you're telling the search engine to find all the pages that contain words that begin with the characters "histor". You will receive a list of pages that contain the words history, histories, historic, or historical, to mention a few possibilities.
