- Evolutionary Ecology of Life Histories
Discusses how insect life histories have evolved to permit ecological specialization. http://www.humboldt.edu/~mac24/zoo580/lecture_notes6.html (Added: Sun Jul 15 2001)
- Selfishness, Altruism, and Cooperation
Lecture notes from the University of California at San Diego. http://www-biology.ucsd.edu/classes/bieb164.SU99.2/lectures/lecture15.html (Added: Sun Jul 15 2001)
- Sexual Selection in Bowerbirds
This web site explores the "evolution of mate choice and male display in nonresource-based mating systems such as occurs in lekking species. Most bowerbirds have a lek-like mating system and males have no role in parental care but they build intricate and often finely crafted stick structures associated with their display sites called bowers. We study bowerbirds as a model system for understanding the evolution of complex male sexual display and related processes like mate searching." http://www.wam.umd.edu/~Borgia/Bower.html (Added: Sun Jul 15 2001)
- The Evolution of Reciprocal Sharing
From an article in Ethology and Sociobiology; the author suggests that evolutionary models of altruistic behavior should be treated with caution. http://weber.ucsd.edu/~jmoore/publications/Recip.html (Added: Sun Jul 15 2001)
