- Speed of Light
All electromagnetic radiation - from radio waves to x-rays - travel at the speed of light. In empty space this speed is approximately 300,000 kilometers per second. This site contains a Java Applet. http://www.colorado.edu/physics/2000/waves_particles/lightspeed-1.html (Added: Sun Oct 27 2002)
- Types of Spectra and Blackbody Radiation
The Color Science site show what the three main types of spectra look like and provides code for creating them. The color of blackbody radiators is also discussed. http://www.physics.sfasu.edu/astro/color.html (Added: Sun Oct 27 2002)
- Vibrating Charges and Electromagnetic Waves
The wave here consists of a wiggling line of electric force which you can think of as being "attached" to the vibrating charge. Notice that it takes a certain time for the wave to move from one particle to the other. This site contains a Java Applet. http://www.colorado.edu/physics/2000/index.pl (Added: Sun Oct 27 2002)
