In some occupations, such as in the field of chemistry or agriculture, mixing solutions may be an everyday task. One approach to solving a problem involving mixtures is given in this application. Some mixture problems involve a solution that is purely acidic (100% acidity). The problems in this application, however, involve solutions that are not purely acidic (their acidity is less than 100%).
Work through each problem first with paper and pencil. Upon completion of your work, check your answers using the interactive application. For some of the problems you will need to enter your answers directly into the boxes. Click on the "play" button to enter your first set of values. Then click on the "run" button to see the results. Click "reset" to enter new values. You may note that the interactive application rounds solutions to two decimal places.
